Arches Mentoring

Providing critical opportunities for youth on probation to step into a brighter future.

Operating in Harlem/Upper Manhattan, Washington Heights, and the Bronx, Arches focuses on investing in and healing justice-involved youth, ages 16-24, on probation to give them a second chance at a bright future.

As part of their second chance, staff members present young adults with opportunities to further their education, gain employment, and step away from a life connected to the criminal justice system.

How it Works

Funded by the NYC Department of Probation (DOP), Arches provides young adults with curriculum-based group mentoring to transform the attitudes and behaviors that led to their criminal activity while protecting the dignity and humanity of participants.

This program consists of two ninety-minute sessions and six months of weekly one-on-one mentoring sessions to develop several life skills.

Topics covered include developing responsible behaviors, handling complicated feelings, and managing relationships and communication.
